Overcoming stress: Restoring the body through balance and relaxation

The biggest enemy of your health is stress , especially chronic stress that slowly deteriorates your body over the years. What is the main problem here?

All stress causes a protein deficiency because our body's response to stress is the production of the stress hormone cortisol.

Cortisol, essential for our survival, requires a lot of protein to be synthesized. And although proteins are crucial for our beauty, health and longevity, our bodies will sacrifice them to survive.

It is surprising to note that human beings are capable of creating stress through negative and anxious thoughts . Fifteen minutes of such thoughts can consume protein reserves accumulated over three days.

The consequences of these anxious thoughts manifest themselves on the condition of the skin, hair and digestive system. If this balance is not restored, repeated stress compensations will eventually saturate the body, leading to its degradation.

Typically, it begins to appear in women around age 40 and in men around age 50.

How to avoid such situations? Stress is inevitable, especially for those who live in the city. You have to learn to live with it, accept it, but also provide the body with the necessary resources.

To reduce the level of cortisol, the stress hormone, several activities can be beneficial:

1. Sleep is essential. Without deep sleep, regeneration of the body is impossible. I talk about this in more detail in my “Sleep Disorders” guide.

2. Other methods of reducing stress include meditation, yoga, and breathing exercises.

3. Outdoor walks (without telephone and preferably alone). Just spend time with yourself.

4. Listening to soft music , spa treatments, massages and leisure activities.

5. The use of adaptogens, essential oils and soothing herbal teas is also recommended.

6. It is crucial to limit screen time. All of these practices help lower cortisol levels, thus providing our body with more resources.

I also want to share with you my favorite procedure: Epsom baths , using magnesium salts.

These baths have a relaxing effect and promote detoxification of the body . For a bath, use between 500 g and 1 kg of salt, the benefits are worth it. It is advisable to go to bed immediately after bathing.

For an even more pleasant experience, you can enrich the bath water with essential oils like lavender oil.

Personally, I also like to apply a mask to my hair and face during this time. This transforms the experience into a true at-home SPA treatment. Allowing yourself this moment of relaxation once a week is a great way to relieve stress and tension . If you don't have time for a full bath, at least opt ​​for a foot bath.
